Stories that Teach

You will be reading stories that originated in the African, African American, and Caribbean cultures.  The activities in this unit will review as well as show how to use the stories for various purposes.

Why should you study these stories?  They help you to understand a little of the history of specific ethnic people.  They sometimes convey the background to their way of thinking.  They also have an entertainment factor.  It is important to recognize that there are differences in the way the world looks at the mysteries of origins and life situations.
