Tips for School Administrators

This section introduces a variety of resources that should add “sparkle” to any school operation. The vast majority of the suggested items for implementation require only a limited amount of funds (many no funds at all). Each requires some coordination between colleagues and hard work. Remember, Adventist schools must reflect excellence - “Good enough schools are not good enough.” We must choose excellence for our children every day and in every way. Each article, brochure, and one-page handout shares a core value.

We owe it to all our students to strive to implement programs that are exceptional, not merely adequate.

Excellence is not only achievable - anything less isn’t good enough. Where we do not achieve excellence, the reasons often have as much to do with self-satisfaction as with insufficient resources. I pray that as you consider implementation of any of these resource materials or strategies that you will be empowered to pursue the level of excellence E.G. White says in Counsels on Education where she states:

“They must be raised, higher and higher, far above where they now stand.”

May God bless each of you as you strive toward making your schools models of excellence, leading your students toward their ultimate goal: heaven!
